Just a quick note today, mostly to invite you to my 3rd Sunday Salon over Zoom, where we will discuss “Songs of Protest” and co-create a playlist of said songs which I will then share on Spotify & YouTube.

I started becoming interested in protest songs across time and genres last summer, hence my YouTube series, “A Brief History of Protest Songs”.

At the Salon we’ll discuss:

-what do you think makes a great protest song?

-what role do you see music playing in social justice movements?

I’ll be teaching a one-day Songwriting Workshop in Winston-Salem, NC Sunday 4/28. I’ll get you writing right away! Then we’ll dive into topics like how to create emotional impact in a song, how to navigate “writer’s block”, and different ways to structure a song. Open to all levels of experience!
